The Burly Men roll on

We rode for 45 miles in the rain into Fitzburg and we were greeted by a smiling Neal Anderson, a professor who seemed to know a little to a lot about just about everything. What did he teach?, I asked. "Students!" he innocently replied. Language is to be used and ab-used in Neal's opinion. After being graciously hosted by Neal and company, we rolled on for 65 miles that acended 4,500 feet the next day. The day started with some rain, but by lunch time the skies were sunny. Zach, Kelli, Meghan, and I rested on some rocks for a bit after the rest of the crew had eaten and taken off for the second half of the ride, and before we knew it we woke up at 2:45. Oops! We had to get going quickly up a steep ~500 foot climb, but were rewarded with a fast 1000 foot decent through a perfectly windy forest road. A small fox ran in front of me and watched me go by from the side of the road. It was the most beautiful part of the trip I have been on so far.
The next day we had a nice, relaxing (although mountainous) 41 miles into Pittsfield via the Berkshire Mountains. The hi of the day was having B&B alumni roll with us, because the B&B community is made up of such amazing people!
Finally, yesterday we had a 87 mile day into Poughkeepsie, NY which was quite probably the most beautiful ride we have had yet - rolling hills past beautiful lakes and views of mountains that (for the most part) we didn't have to climb. We stopped for lunch just after entering Connecticut at a lake where we swam at the town beach and jumped off of docks they had set up in the water. We also slid down a water slide, which I almost got my butt stuck in. I blamed it on all the cycling muscles back there.

Hi MM ... we're really enjoying the reports "from the field." Keep up the good work. Especially liked the report of Pittsfield MA ... I lived nearby (Stockbridge MA) grades 1-5. We love hearing about your adventures. Cheers and happy biking/building. Love ya', a&r
