Every day is a gift

The ride into Illinois was another fast one - 94 miles that averaged over 20 mph again. We were greeted extremely warmly by the residents of Sumner, and I talked for a long time with an old man who I came to find out has been battling cancer for 20 years. He didn't think he would make it this long, but he 'is doing good,' and seemed far better to me. Still, he told me, 'Every day is a gift.' Yes it is, for all of us!

The ride into Salem, IL was another fast one, and we found a water park at the end of the day that let us in for free, which was a BLAST. We ended up sleeping in a barn at the town Fairgrounds since none of the churches in town were able to host us, and that ended up being a great time as well.
