After two days of paddling along the Maine-Canada border, encountering class 3 rapids, driving rains and mild hypothermia, we slid silently into Loon Bay, backlit by a breathtaking sunset. This tree was asking to be climbed. Photo was taken at the moment the stars overtook the sun as the brightest lights in the sky.

I recently made San Diego my home and it is incredible because there is something beautiful, cultural, outdoorsy, and awesome around every corner. I love the outdoors and I am always planning my next adventure. It can be as simple as a waterfall hike on the weekend or planning an epic canyoneering trip through the southwest. Some of my most recent adventures include living and working in Spain, working outside Denali National Park in Alaska, hitchhiking from Alaska to San Francisco in part down the famed Pacific Coast Highway, and working on Lake Powell in Arizona.
